NORTH­WEST FLORI­DA BEACH­ES INTER­NA­TION­AL AIR­PORT CEL­E­BRATES UNIT­ED AIR­LINES INAGUR­AL FLIGHTS

PANA­MA CITY, FL (March 5, 2015) – In cel­e­bra­tion of Unit­ed Air­lines join­ing North­west Flori­da Beach­es Inter­na­tion­al Air­port (ECP) with new dai­ly, non-stop ser­vice to Houston’s Georg Bush Inter­con­ti­nen­tal Air­port (IAH), pas­sen­gers on the inau­gur­al flights were wel­comed with a tra­di­tion­al water canon salute and in-ter­mi­nal celebration.

The first Unit­ed Express flight, oper­at­ed by Express­Jet, arrived from Hous­ton (Unit­ed 4402) at 1:34 p.m. and the first flight depart­ed from Pana­ma City Beach (Unit­ed 4489) at 2:30 p.m. Pas­sen­gers were wel­comed to North­west Flori­da with a gift bag filled with fun items and infor­ma­tion about the region and its beau­ti­ful beaches.

“We are excit­ed to cel­e­brate expand­ed ser­vice with Unit­ed Air­lines to Hous­ton, con­nect­ing our pas­sen­gers to world­wide des­ti­na­tions,” said Park­er W. McClel­lan, Jr., air­port exec­u­tive director.

Unit­ed will offer twice-dai­ly non­stop Unit­ed Express ser­vice to Houston’s George Bush Inter­con­ti­nen­tal Air­port (IAH). The new ser­vice will link the region to United’s Hous­ton hub offer­ing one-stop con­nec­tions to oth­er cities in the airline’s glob­al route net­work, as well as con­nec­tions to addi­tion­al cities in the Star Alliance net­work. From its Hous­ton hub, Unit­ed serves 176 domes­tic and inter­na­tion­al des­ti­na­tions, includ­ing Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

ECP con­tin­ues to grow and offer addi­tion­al air ser­vice to pas­sen­gers in the region. This cel­e­bra­tion is the first of sev­er­al in the com­ing weeks, with South­west Air­lines and Sil­ver Air­ways to wel­come inau­gur­al flights to the airport.
